Hello! My name is Andi, my pronouns are he/him, and I'm a Brooklyn creative with a passion for fashion and art looking to teach others more about themselves through the lens of clothing and journaling. I graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. Conservation and sustainability are two focal points that embedded themselves in my research; both play crucial roles in how fashion, clothing production, and waste management continue to affect our physical and social environments today. I created my own curated vintage clothing brand in 2022 called Candi Closet to start giving clothes a new life, and have been running my business online and in person at vintage stores and pop-ups around the city. Helping folks find vintage pieces that make them feel like their true selves is always a special moment for me. When I'm not working on my business, I'm writing music or poetry and cutting up unconventional items to add to my journal pages. In both cases of mixed media art and fashion, one man's trash can truly be another man's treasure. Other topics that have been impactful on my experiences include harm reduction, LGBTQIA+ representation, and community engagement. My goal for each student I work with is to not only engage with the coursework but more importantly, learn something deeper about themselves through the duration of their experience in class. I look forward to connecting with eager minds and providing a safe space for each child to grow.
