My name is Dawn. I go by D.W. I am Deaf. I have worked in education for over 15 years in leadership, consultation, and the classroom. My background is in ASL, accessibility, and instructional technology. In my free time, I support several deaf and disabled organizations as a member of their Board of Directors. I also run my own non-profit which provides advocacy for families with deaf children, scholarships for deaf high school graduates, and consultation for school districts who service deaf learners.

I am passionate about sharing American Sign Language and Deaf Culture with the masses to bridge communication gaps between worlds (hearing and deaf). My teaching philosophy is that all students have the capacity to learn with the proper supports and encouragement. I teach using the Comprehensible Input method, which provides instruction primarily in the target language with support through gesture, visual aids, and written communication.
