Dungeons and Dragons, Mathmatics, and Improv
- When I was still a student I founded my school's Dungeons and Dragons club!
- I love to draw and would love to help my students design their characters for Dungeons and Dragons.
- I graduated from The University of Tampa with a BS in Elementary Education.
I am both a Dungeon Master for Dungeons and Dragons and an elementry school teacher.
While in the classroom I use Dungeons and Dragons as an engagement tool to keep my students on the right track and as an assessment tool in the form of Random Encounters (Which are really just quizzes done in a more exciting way).
I graduated from The University of Tampa with a BS in Elementary Education then went on to teach at Shaw Elementary for one year as a 5th grade teacher. This year as a classroom teacher allowed me to grow my teaching style, and it helped me realize that a classroom setting is not how I want to teach. While utalizing Dungeons and Dragons in the classroom I was able to focus on the areas of the content that my students struggled with much easier, specifically with math and science, and it kept the students engaged enough that more often than not the students would ask for extra work after the lesson finished because they were having so much fun. At the same time these students (Many of which entered my 5th grade classroom at a 3rd or 2nd grade level) were forming connections with the content, many left the class now either on a 5th or 6th grade level and with many less behavior problems.
