My professional background and education are mostly in architectural design. I spent 2 years in community college studying mechanical engineering, psychology, and practicing mechanical design. I then spent the next 5 years studying architectural design in Syracuse where my focus was on designing atmosphere, model making, and sculpting. I’ve always adored fabrication and advanced my knowledge using CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printing, and most importantly; handmade detailing aided by an array of woodshop machinery.
I worked for about 3 years professionally: half of which was spent in design build on Cape Cod working with dozens of families to help craft their ideal home within their means; from renovation and additions to full-builds. Most of which involved managing design meetings and tailoring my communication and design skills to the interests of the client. The other half was work in restoration all over Manhattan where I learned about the details and labor of repairing damaged buildings, preparing construction drawings and documents, the building restoration filing process, surveying sites, and on-site project management and building/repair coordination. I'm proficient in model making, sculpting, and with a bit of a history in being a stagehand and builder for set designers throughout my education.
