Hello! My name is Rachelle. I’m a public elementary school art teacher. I’ve worked at PS166for the past ten years, and been teaching for 15 1/5 years. My passions include, traveling, spending time at the beach, photography, cooking, and spending time with my family. I’m super passionate about teaching visual arts to young students and building connections to the world around them through instruction and art making activities. My lessons are often inspired by artists, current museum exhibits, and found materials. I’ve participated with a group of teachers at the MoMA on Social Emotional Learning, I’m embarking on a second term of Art Exchange at the Brooklyn Museum, and won the accolade of NYCATA Elementary Art Teacher of the Year in 2019. Being able to have children enjoy the art making process and have fun while learning at their level is of utmost importance to me.
